A new auditorium was added to the church property.  For the next 25 years, the Church played a central role in reaching out to the community with this message: The Balanced Life – Spirit, Soul, & Body.

Due to a rapidly growing congregation, the church began looking for additional property to expand.  We were shown the property on Strayer and, after a year of negotiations, the campus was finally ours.

With a new name and identity, theChurch on Strayer provided an opportunity to create inspiring new ways to reach Toledo.   theChurch is made up of people of all generations and cultures reaching out to our community.

Our choice of  “theChurch” best fits who we are and what we do.  Church is a verb.  We are theChurch because we DO church.

Another campus opened in Fremont, Ohio with Pastor Matt Coutcher and his wife, Christy, as Campus Pastor.  The church on 53 is reaching the community in a relevant way and now has two services to accommodate the growth.

theChurch now has two locations: the main campus on Strayer in Maumee, and theChurch on 53 in Fremont.  Today, more than 2,500 members attend the weekend services and small groups.

God is at work at theChurch.  We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple & the people are free to go after God with passion.
