If you have already prayed and asked Jesus to forgive your sins, Congratulations!
If not, would you like to give your heart to Christ right now? Jesus says, “I stand at the door and knock and if you hear My voice and open the door, I will come in.”
If you have not prayed, but would like to, just pray the following prayer: “Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I invite You to come into my heart and life and be my Lord, my God, and my friend. Fill me with your spirit and help me to follow you from this time forward, to be your disciple. I trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
God loves you so much that 2,000 years ago He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place on the cross and pay the price for all the sin you committed and if you will turn from your sins and put your faith in Christ, you can join God’s family.
By asking Christ to come into your life, He has forgiven you of your sins and made you ready for His return and has given you the confidence that you will go to Heaven when you die.
When you prayed, committing your life to Christ, what happened?
Jesus said, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20
What did Jesus say He would do if you asked Him into your life? “I will forgive you.”
The Bible says… “Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
What happened when you received Him? … You became one of God’s children.
The Bible says… “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Now that you believe in Jesus Christ and have asked Him to forgive your sins, what can you be certain of? …You have eternal life.
How do you know… • You know because… You are saved? • God said it…in His Word, the Bible You are a child of God? • You believe it…in your heart You have eternal life? • That settles it…in your mind.
Congratulations on your decision to follow Christ! You’re at the very beginning of a new life—one filled with grace, peace, and joy that can only come from knowing God. Make sure you pick up your Start To Follow book and a free Bible at Resources or email us at email@example.com and we will send you one.
First, the Bible is food for the spiritual life, which needs to be nourished just as your body does. Start by reading the Book of John.
Second, you can’t be an effective Christian on your own. If you are not already attending a church, start now and get involved in a church where the Word of God is faithfully proclaimed. We recommend theChurch Maumee or one of our other campuses theChurch Fremont and theChurch Northwood.
Third, prayer is your lifeline to God. Form the positive habit of starting each day with a few minutes in prayer. Have a conversation with God. Fourth, a Christian is to be Christ’s witness. You are to be an ambassador for Him wherever you go. Share your story. All of these have one purpose: to lead you to become a fully devoted follower of Christ. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Develop your relationship with God just like you would with anyone you love: spend time with Him, ask for His help, and do what matters to Him. Congratulations again on your decision to follow Christ—we are celebrating with you!
